Episode 97: When You Don’t Feel Like an Extraordinary Mom
Despite the name of my podcast, most of my guests would probably say that on a daily basis they don’t feel like an “extraordinary mom.” I know that I don’t. But that being said, if we really look objectively at the work we are doing, we begin to see how extraordinary we truly are. How are we able to work 24/7, with plenty of physical labor, bodily fluids, repetitive tasks, etc… and all for no pay? The sacrifices we make each and every day to meet the needs of our children is nothing short of extraordinary. Our ability to love unconditionally even when they do things on the regular that certainly seem unlikable.. that is extraordinary. And yet we get caught up on our shortcomings and the areas where we fall short. We focus on our flaws instead of celebrate our successes.
So today’s podcast is preaching to the choir (I’m in your camp) about how to help yourself feel like more of an extraordinary mom. I guarantee you are doing better than you think you are. You don’t have to be a perfect mom to be extraordinary.
