Friday Favorites… Vol. 1

If you’re anything like me, sometimes I get to 6:00pm and realize… I haven’t talked to another adult all day! It’s been nonstop noise in my house and I’ve been asked a billion questions and responded to each and every question, but those conversations have all taken place with children under 4 feet tall! Sometimes, I just crave a little adult interaction! Can I get an amen?

When I do get the opportunity to chat with my friends, whether it is at a playdate or catching up with friends on the phone, I LOVE to hear what they are into right now. Whether it’s a favorite book, show, makeup tool, or food at Trader Joe’s… I love hearing their current obsession, and I equally enjoy sharing my favs. So on Fridays, I wanted to share a few things that I am enjoying or else have another mom share their must-haves of the moment.

So here we go…

  1. For the Love“- by Jen Hatmaker.61aOOoMsXML._SY90_Love this essay-style book. It makes it an excellent choice if you’re in a phase of life where you only have time to read a few pages at a time. The theme throughout the book is grace and she talks about everything from teaching her kids about showing kindness to the outcasts to funny stories from her Supper Club. It’s such an enjoyable read that had me laughing out loud.
  2. The Happy Hour Podcast with Jamie Ivey– I stumbled upon this podcast by accident (I’m obsessed with podcasts and they make my drives and daily chores so much more enjoyable when I turn them on as my companion), when she was interviewing Jen Hatmaker (see above). This is the podcast that inspired me to start my own. The host, Jamie, a Christian, Texan chats with her friends (who are all remarkably accomplished, yet humble), and you feel like part of their conversation. The content goes from frivolous to inspiring within each episode. LOVE!
  3. Matrix Style Link Turbo Dryer 71AyaY9aUfL._SX425_ I originally found out about this product from The Small Things blog (another favorite of mine), and was sold when she said that it significantly cut down on her blowdrying time. Considering I wash and dry my hair once a week (the upside of having dark, thick hair), I knew that any product that could cut down on drying time was right up my alley. I don’t notice a HUGE difference, but it smells good and does make some difference… enough of a difference that it’s still a favorite thing of mine.

So there you go, friends. Three of my favorite things for this week. What are some of yours? Leave a comment… I would love to hear from you. I hope you have a great weekend!
